OMAHA HI
Before
reading these rules, please familiarize yourself with Hold'em rules, as
most of the gameplay is the same except for the following. In Omaha Hi each player is dealt four cards face down
instead of two, but a player is only allowed to create their best hand
using two of their pocket cards and three from the community.
OMAHA HI/LO
In Omaha Hi/Lo, also called Omaha or
Better, players can qualify to win half the pot. Half the pot goes to
the highest ranking hand and half the pot goes to the lowest hand that
qualifies. To qualify a player must have five cards of a different value
from Ace to 8 and whichever player has the lowest high card wins half
the pot. For example, if player1 has A,2,4,6,8 and player2 has 2,3,5,6,7
player2 wins the low pot. If the players tie with high card the next
highest is used and if the hands are identical the low half of the pot
is split. If no player qualifies with a low hand, the entire pot goes to
the high winner.
